The year is 2617 and the outcome of civilization is disturbing and dark. Government as we know it has been over thrown by tech and intelligent bred para-military forces that now run the New World Society, otherwise known as the N.W.S. The clean industries our ancestors ran hundreds of years ago no longer exist except for the making of metal for the use of architecture, vehicular, and weaponry development. All water, oil and food are managed by the N.W.S.. Technology growth has come to a standstill but because old technology still exists, it is easy to acquire for anyone to use. Textile industries don’t exist on a large scale. Each territory has been forced to produce their own clothing, which leads to each territory having a slight signature in their appearance.
With the rise of power globally of the N.W.S., rebel forces, considered good, have emerged to try to fight for peace and regain control of resources and industry again. The black market is a way of life for many, with trading, and selling new and used clothing, technology, air masks, food, and water. Income for those living in the city like compounds comes from an N.W.S. “Mandatory Workforce Development” building massive structures on top of the old cities. Work identification cards are issued, showing your name, living quadrant, number of family members living with you, a photo head shot, your identification number, your skills and trades, and a nice big logo of Ma.W.D. – pronounced, m-ahh-d. This workforce is N.S.W. Wide and occurs in all compounds. There are few that don’t work for various reasons, such as the elderly, school children, wives – until their youngest child reaches the age of 18, then they are required to work, and of course the sick.
The air outside of the compounds is polluted so heavily air masks are needed. The pollutants are born from factories, waste, and the left over bad air from generations before. The global warming epidemic has destroyed most natural resources which has driven the N.W.S. to create controlled indoor farming and water sources. The ozone layer has had an accelerated deterioration rate since WWIII, which occurred back in 2158. The chemical bombs and radiation created clouds of death that covered the earth for the next 5-years, at which point the beginning of massive neutralizing air treatments were launched and successfully made the air sustainable again. However, during those 5-years the clouds of death killed off billions of people world-wide through the simple occurrence of acid rain, killing import and export industries forcing surviving nations to figure out their own resources. The Asian countries became the first wastelands as a result of this tragedy. What used to be lush lands, was struck hard during the war and completely killed the land. The reaction later of the death-clouds became unstoppable during those 5-years and the transformation of other countries becoming a wasteland continued.
Our days now are hot, and if you go outside all areas of the skin should be covered. This has destroyed our natural water systems with the exception of the high mountains where snow still falls. Our oceans and waterways, at least what is left of them, are polluted, which make fish mostly not edible. The N.W.S. run and control indoor water sources, indoor agriculture, livestock, and fish hatcheries.
Many mass waste lands exist where the N.W.S. do not tread and many of the known rebel forces occupy these areas. Other than the wastelands, the mountain territories are another somewhat safe place to hide, although difficult to survive due to the cold weather, drastically different then lower altitudes. The mountain territory people have become accustom to trading water for food in the black market.
The old city, otherwise known as the “underworld,” is extremely vast, desolate, and unsafe, due to the evil and thieving underdwellers. Although few are trusted, this provides an unsecured but rarely monitored passage way to other territories. The N.W.S., although powerful and resourceful, usually doesn’t bother monitoring this place for the same reason as the mountains and anyone who goes there risks their life. Only rebels really have the capacity to sustain in those places based on their efficiency in the black market and acquiring food, water and equipment for survival.

c. Using smart capsules (completely engineer and programmable) to control appetite, discipline, in prisoners for controllability, healing properties controlling the body using fine tuned electro-magnetic technology and programmed for specific things, then implanted in the body.

a. Inside of the compounds, entire ecosystems occur, such as dew, occasional rain, clouds, and fans create breeze to emulate real world environments within each compound.
b. Comprehensive air circulation filtration processes the air to reduce pollutants, bacteria, and allergens.
III. Communication
a. Non-damaging, lifetime powered microwave/GPS communication
b. Bluetooth-like earpiece device, but more permanent fitting like hearing aids, fit on the ear – choice of left or right. This is the phone/communicator. A call is initiated by voice activation. The network is designed to recognize actual names and user- or code-names. So, a new contact is just a verbal command away. A voice confirmation registers the user/code-name and requires approval from the recipient. Businesses set their code-name to auto-allow registration for any user.
c. Voice recognition is so good, no voice can be duplicated, to guarantee security. Each voice holds a unique wave signature that is captured, and learned into the personal earpiece.
d. A version of the internet still exists, loosly referred to as the network. At some point all internet storage was dispersed among satellites, holding archived data dating back as early as the 22nd century. This also allows for real-time access and private storage, virtually unlimited, and entirely secured.
Current technology allows the use of eye wear combined with a wireless flexible, indestructible ring. The material is a carbon material with a light flex to fit any finger. This ring is not only equipped with wireless technology, but it partners with your body’s inner electricity and communicates with your brain to allow the use of your hands to navigate on the network. Using the eyewear you can now view the network and control it anywhere you want.
Some tech savvy people have hacked the network enough to be able to access the old internet and view it as it was before the NWA took over. Even though this is possible the challenge is understanding the information enough to be able to use it for a more virtual underground network. This old internet is not monitored like the new network is and is used like the old HAM radio communication of the 20th century and later.
If you knew how to, you could find communication networks built on the old internet infrastructure that will reveal secret locations of rebel communities as well as their militia. The underworld is also tapped into this. There are only a few shared open communication networks within this. Because of the extremely tight encryption just to get to the old network, it’s almost impossible to crack the code of other private communication networks.
In conjunction with the earpiece, you could sync a video wrist band made of a carbon fiber compound, using a combination transparent laser/sensor camera to capture in 3D. The screens display virtual 3D depth with slight projection to make the video rise from the wrist band enough that it looks like you could touch it.
Because of the secure communication system, linked in on the same multilayer encryption used with the currency chip, wire taps and frequency scanning will not work. The only way to spy is through bugs. However, every security point in the compounds scan for such things and live scanners throughout the compound constantly scan as well. This poses a severe risk to anyone attempting to wear or plant a bug. Some of the rebel forces have developed stealth technologies, but there are certain inconsistencies such as power consumption, and transmission strength even using the main network versus RF or the old network hacked.
IV. Underworld Railway
a. The use of magents for long distance ground transportation went away when the new world was built over the top of the old city’s destruction. The underworld because a dangerous escape from the NWA but was the only way to get into the compounds to steal supplies and to access old railways and tunnels to get to different rebel communities. The magnet railways were brought back underground to provide fast, reliable transportation underground.
The Underworld Railway is not entirely realized by the NWA and is controlled by a unique and respected clan of Underdwellers, simply nicknamed, “the conductors.”
V. Currency
a. The NWA still controls the currency all over the world. Currency is loaded onto a chip that is provided in a indestructible compound card. Some people carry this on an arm band, or in their boots typically. This chip can be implanted into your forearm for ultimate security. The currency, registers simply in Units, Whole Units, Half Unitss, and Quarter Units. You can acquire hard currency, but due to theft it’s slowly going away, which makes it difficult for rebel, mountain, and underworld communities to continue financial trade without the chips and proper bank tooling to allow one-to-one transfers. You can also use ATM style machines to convert hard currency into Unit credit and get it transferred to your chip.
A multi-layer encryption guarded strictly by the NWA (the same encryption guarding the government funds, as well) is embedded in each chip. This chip has never been hacked.
